Winipcfg.exe

Click the "Start" button select "Run" and type "winipcfg" (without the quotes), hit "OK". The top window will normally show "PPP", just click the arrow and select your network card from the list.

Click the "Release" button and the IP address should display zeros. Click the "Renew" button the IP address should fill with a 12.176.58.0 series address, or in the case of a router being used it will be a 192.168.0.0 series address.

If the IP Address fills the window with a valid IP number (a 169.0.0.0 number means you are not connected) then you are connected to us or at least to your router.
